Household Hazardous Waste Collection

The Passaic County Office of Solid Waste & Recycling Programs will be holding a Household Hazardous Waste Collection on Sunday, April 7 at the Passaic County Para-Transit Facility, 1310 Route 23 North, Wayne, NJ 07470 (behind Ski Barn) from 7:30 am until 2:00 pm, rain or shine. This program is available FREE OF CHARGE to Passaic County residents ONLY. Proof of residency will be required.

NO UNKNOWN OR UNIDENTIFIED MATERIALS CAN BE ACCEPTED

Acceptable Materials for Disposal:

The following items must be delivered in marked containers with original labels:
Pesticides & Herbicides Photographic Chemicals
Propane Tanks Fluorescent Light Bulbs
Solvents & Thinners Car Batteries
Varnishes & Waxes Used Motor Oil & Oil Filters
Corrosives & Cleaners Antifreeze
Pool Chemicals Old Gasoline/Oil Mix
Oil Based Paints Flares
Aerosol Cans Fire Extinguishers
Kerosene Mercury Switches & Thermometers

Unacceptable Materials:

The following Items will NOT be accepted:
Explosives Radioactive Material
Dioxins Computers & Electronics
Medical Waste Tires & Appliances
Silvex Latex Paint
Infectious Waste Household Batteries

Small Quantity Generators (CESQG's) must call to make special arrangements. A disposal fee will be charged. Call 973-305-5738 for additional information.
