Police Department to issue ID cards to approved solicitors

The police department will be issuing identification cards to all approved solicitors within the Township of Little Falls. All solicitors are required to make application to the township.

School #1 National Junior Honor Society chapter collecting books for Little Free Library through April 23rd

The Little Falls School #1 National Junior Honor Society chapter is holding a collection of books for the Little Falls School #3 “Little Free Library.” We are requesting mostly 3rd and 4th grade books, but we also need picture, nonfiction, and higher-level books (up to 6th grade difficulty).

Thanks to the efforts of four eighth-graders, collection boxes can be found in the Little Falls School #1 main office, the Little Falls Rec Center, and the Little Falls Public Library. The collection will conclude on April 23rd although this date may be subject to change.

FREE Oral Cancer Screening on Wednesday, April 5th

The Clifton Health Department will be offering a FREE Oral Cancer Screening for residents of Clifton and Little Falls on Wednesday, April 5th, 2017 from 10am-12pm at the Clifton Health Department, located at 900 Clifton Avenue, 2nd Floor. Dr. Dena Constandelis, DMD, will be conducting the screening and will be seeing patients by appointment only. Please call Barbara Luzniak, BSN, RN, at 973-470-5776 to make your appointment. An examination of the lips, gums, mouth, and throat for sores, lumps, and other early warning signs of oral cancer will be conducted during this screening. 1000 Books Before Kindergarten

Did you know that reading to your child is one of the most powerful ways to boost his or her brain power? Sharing books helps your child learn pre-reading skills including: understanding the sounds that letters make, developing a larger vocabulary, and building background knowledge. As of January, the Library invites you and your young ones (any child from birth until enters kindergarten) to participate in 1000 Books Before Kindergarten. The program is free and provides a great way to bond with your child. Stop by the front desk to register and pick up a folder that contains a program overview, log, suggested booklist, and early literacy tips. Logging books read is as simple as checking off a number on a paper log or on the app. Incentives are offered at each 100 mark. Don’t delay, get started today!
