January, 2015 — Township of Little Falls: State of the Township
2014 was a very interesting year in Little Falls, just to say we went through a lot of transition would be an understatement. I do not want to rehash the transitional events and actions that occurred here in the Township. I will report to you today the accomplishments and positions we have reached at the year’s end.

|Residents can sign up for Little Falls Township’s Reverse 9-1-1 system through the CodeRED Community Notification Enrollment (CNE). Signing up enables you to receive phone calls from the Township regarding urgent, emergency-based news. If you previously signed up with Global Connect, you do not have to sign up again.

|The Little Falls Police Department is utilizing the Nixle Community Information Service to send important police-related information directly to residents. Notifications can also be accessed online at Nixle’s web site.

Rain washes pollutants into storm drains and directly into our lakes, rivers and the ocean. So what can you do?
The Clean Water NJ website (www.cleanwaternj.org/) has plenty of helpful information about what you can do around the house, in the garden, and in the community to help reduce the amount of harmful contaminants in our water.
Passaic County has adopted the following resolutions required by the state. Please feel free to download and read the Fair Housing Program and Citizen Participation Plan.

Clifton Health Department Offers Low Cost Women’s Cancer Screenings To Clifton And Little Falls Residents Only
In an effort to improve the health of the community, the Clifton Health Department invites women to attend the low cost women’s cancer screening on Friday, March 20, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. This clinic is open to Clifton and Little Falls residents only. Appointments are required; call 973-470-5760 to schedule your appointment. Dawn Ammirata, Advanced Practice Nurse, is attending in the women’s cancer screening clinic. This screening includes a Pap test, pelvic exam, physical breast exam, and blood pressure reading for a fee of $25; and colorectal cancer testing kits will be available for $10. Reminder to Residents: No On-Street Parking When Roads are Snow-Covered
The Little Falls Department of Public Works would like to remind all residents that there is NO PARKING on any streets when the roads are snow covered. This is to allow the DPW to clean the roadways of snow. Vehicles that are parked on the street when the plows go out to clear the roads are subject to ticketing and towing as per Township Ordinance 923. More...
New Solid Waste Contractor Effective January, 2015
Effective January 2015 the Township has a new Solid Waste Contractor that will be picking up the garbage and recycling for 2015. The new contractor will be F. Basso, Jr. Rubbish Removal, Inc.
Garbage must be placed out by the curb, but not in the street by 6 AM on the day of pick-up.
2015 Recycling brochures are at the printer and should be to the residents in the beginning of January.
