The Department of Public Works (DPW) is responsible for constructing and maintaining much of the Township's vital systems of roads, streets, bridges, storm sewers, sanitary sewers and the many related components.

Temporary DPW, Solid Waste & Recycling Hours during the COVID-19 pandemic

  • All solid waste, recycling, bulk waste and vegetative waste pickup will maintain its normal schedule until further notice.
  • The DPW Office will be open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Please call (973) 256-0309 for any additional information.
  • The Township Recycling Center will be modified as follows (additional temporary closures may be necessary):
    • Monday through Friday: 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
    • Saturday, Sunday and Holidays: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • No physical contact or face to face contact will be allowed. Minimum of (7) seven-foot distance between employees and residents will be maintained, if any contact is required.
  • Please note that the recycling center is open to Little Falls Residents ONLY!

Solid Waste

Garbage must be at curb by 6:00 AM; containers are not to be placed in the street for pick up. Click the 2020 Recycling and Garbage Collection Brochure button below for list of streets included in Sections I and II.

SECTION I: Pickup days are Monday and Thursday except for holidays.

SECTION II: Pickup days are Tuesday and Friday except for holidays.

Recycling

Recycling Center Hours:
Weekdays: 7 AM – 3:50 PM
Saturday, Sunday & Holidays: 9 AM – 2 PM
Office Hours: Monday thru Friday 8 AM – 3:30 PM

Recycling collections of newspapers/cardboard and commingled articles are picked up on alternating Wednesdays throughout the year.
