Little Falls Senior Bus Service

Travels to Little Falls, Woodland Park and Totowa

  • Takes residents, upon request, to doctor and dentist appointments, hair appointments, etc.
  • Grocery shopping to ShopRite every day
  • Kohl’s Shopping Center, upon request; Willowbrook Shopping Mall, upon request; Target, upon request
  • Senior Clubs at the Civic Center — Tuesday and Thursday

Days and hours of operation:
Monday and Friday — 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Tuesday and Thursday — 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
The bus does not operate on Wednesday.

The service is only available to Township residents. The age limit is 55 and older, unless the person is disabled. However, a disabled person must be able to get on and off of the bus themselves.

Applications for a pass to use the service are available in the Clerk’s Office at 225 Main Street or in the Department of Public Works Office at 70 Sindle Avenue. Once the application is received and reviewed, a letter is sent to the resident notifying them of approval.

All requests for services are to be called into the Senior Citizen’s bus driver, Kevin, at 201-994-6831 during regular hours of operation.

County Resources for Senior Citizens

The Passaic County Department of Senior Services provides and coordinates numerous services and sponsors many activities for senior citizens. Services available within the county include transportation, seasonal cleaning, housekeeping, certified home health aides, telephone reassurance, social adult day care and legal services. The Senior Farmers’ Market

The Passaic County Farmers’ Market operates from June through November. For income requirements, please contact the Department of Senior Services after June 15th at 973-569-4060. The program provides eligible low-income individuals with vouchers to purchase fresh, nutritious, unprepared, locally grown fruits, vegetables and fresh cut herbs from certified farmers and roadside stands.

The program reinforces the importance of using locally grown produce and expands the awareness and use of the local farmers. Each eligible individual will receive five $5.00 vouchers for the season to purchase fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs from authorized farmers. Vouchers cannot be redeemed at grocery stores and other food markets.

Requirements:

To be eligible to receive Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program benefits, individuals must be at least 60 years old, a Passaic County resident and meet the programs income requirements. All individuals must complete an application, provide proof of income, residency and personally sign for the vouchers.
