May is Motorcycle Safety Month

May is Motorcycle Safety Month. According to a 2014 fatal crash data report, the National Highway Traffic Safety Association (NHTSA) noted that motorcyclist deaths occurred 27 times more frequently than fatalities in other vehicles. To keep motorcyclists safe, the NHTSA urges everyone to share the road and to be alert. Having cooperation from all road users will help reduce the number of fatalities and injuries on our nation’s highways. The NHTSA wants to remind all motorists that its vital to understand the safety challenges faced by motorcyclists and by raising motorists’ awareness, both drivers and riders will be safer sharing the road.
